It began many years ago when Joseph Vinagro Sr., a pig farmer, would go out and collect trash across RI to help feed his pigs. After doing this for a while, many people would ask him if he would take other types of waste besides the waste for his pigs. Soon thereafter and to better serve the community, Joe Sr. decided that he would form a waste services company and named it Liberty Disposal. Liberty operated on two main principles, hard work and devotion to high quality service. After operating successfully for over 15 years, Joe Sr. sold Liberty to American Disposal.
Then in 1998 with the help of his son Joe Jr., they formed two new companies, J.R. Vinagro Corp and Patriot Disposal. The two companies would be seperate entities but would collaborate and focus around recycling.
J.R. Vinagro Corp's specialities include heavy-hauling, demolition, on-site rock crushing and material sales. Patriot Disposal operates a full service waste hauling and recycling operation specializing in residential and commercial service with both front-loading and roll-off capibilities.
The combined companies recycle everything from organic material to construction debris. They operate two seperate recycling plants. One location handles concrete, asphalt, stone, gravel, loam and organics that can be used to improve certain products for resale. The other location accepts construction debris at their material recovery facility where the material is seperated by content and transported to alternate sites for resale and reuse.
